I have been having these weird dreams for like two weeks now. Its always at a very very big river with waterfalls n its very deep, somehow i am in it and apprently i need to get to the other side n theres nothing on the other side, but deeper water and higher falls. Oh n theres aligators n sharks in the river too and I usually wake up with “oh crap i am gonna die” feelings. I dont think dreams mean anything but why do i keep dreaming about this place over and over again. I have never been to this place in real. Oh and my mom had a dream about a really big fish swallowing me :-s I guess i should stay away from beaches this summer

It's better to share your dreams with someone who is knowledgeable. IMHO, it's not a good idea to share'em on a public board :-)

By knwoledgeable I meant someone who is religiously knowledgeable to understand dreams - to understand the responsibilty of actually performing the Sunnah of Yousuf:as:
It’s not a matter of guessing; it’s a matter of a greater responisibilty and greater conviction to one’s faith.
Not everyone is eligible/capable to do such by default.

well a very detailed part of Surah Yousuf guides us that dreams do have meanings. It’s only us who are ignorant enough not to know that. May be philosophy and logic and our little tiny brains are bigger than the book of ALLAH :swt:

so dreams have meaning. and we don't know what they mean, because of our "tiny brains". so who exactly, besides Prophet Yusuf, in this day and age have the capabilities to actually interept the dreams? and how do they get it?

I did not say that… if you scroll back a little up and take my words in context… when I refered to tiny brains, I meant to those who do not believe in such, that is dreams have meanings and interpreting dreams is something that is taught by prophets to their followers. There were among sahabas (RA) who could interpret dreams as well and thus the later part of Ummah learnt from them and scholars wrote many books about how to interpret them.

that wasn't my question. i do believe that dreams have meanings (heck, i HAVE to believe that dreams have meanings). my question is, who DOES know the meaning?

you could become one too. It’s about knowledge that has been passed by Prophets (AS) and there are many good books by the scholars of early time. It only takes honest intention and Iman to achieve such.
and NO, I am not that knowledgeable enough.

TJ, Anwar is right dreams do have meanings, there are books on this subject. Some ppl have very specific dreams or ishara etc. Don't know about not sharing them though, perhaps we're advised against sharing as many ppl tend to joke about stuff they don't have knowledge about.
Perhaps you should give sadqa of yourself to someone in need.

Sabah mom was all freaked out so she did already. See I always thought that only prophets have dreams that mean something and if we see a prophet mohammad (pbuh) then we are not suppose to tell ppl...hmmm i need to read about it though cuz i am sure
