Well I know that it is common knowledge that gold and silk are prohibited for men to wear, I have just read abit about different Hadeeth regarding silk for men and it doesn’t seem to be as clear cut as it is for gold. While pure silk ties are definitely haram, what about ties that are mixed with different fabrics? are these haram or still ok to be worn?![]()
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
So like 60 percent silk is the cut off point? ![]()
Some things are just too stupid to be bothered with. I’d worry more about having a clean heart.
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
silk shirts and pants r definitely not allowed....
but i personally dont see any problem with silken ties....
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
I've never seen a "silk-mixed-with-other-fabric" tie.
I'm building up quite the collection of polyester ties myself.
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
havent you seen marks&spencers ties:hmmm: they are silk mixed with other fabrics:halo:
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
why take a risk if its haram ? There are some really nice Polyester ties out there
try amazon.com… ![]()
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
Simple rule...
Silk = not allowed
Not silk (included silk like, silk touch, silk mix etc) = allowed.
on the other hand
Tie = ??? (some consider ties them selves not suitable for muslims but there is no real proof that they represent a cross.)
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
is telling a minor LIE okay
..
bibi SheeN… If you do follow such things then even its 1% silk, do not go for it.
My in-laws gave me gold ring on my nikkah, which i refused to take. and they replaced it with a silver one with “Allias Allah-e Bekafehin Abdahu” written on it ![]()
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
LoL ![]()
Kitnaa Silk allowed hay ?
Kitnaa Alcohol level allowed hay ? ( Is 0.001% okay ? )
Kyaa PORK bilkul 100% haram hay ?
Ties are dumb anyway ![]()
They are part of the dress code for infidels - definitely not an Islamic thing
Why you want to wear ties ??
Why not glamourize the islamic dresses so that the infidels are impressed (some may even want to convert to islam). Then we can export the Shalwar Qameez, Dhoti / Banyan and the THOBE
to Denmark, Holland and Britain.
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
Anyway - Fatwa time
Fatwa issued by Sheikh Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajid, a prominent Saudi Islamic lecturer and author. It goes as follows:
"If there is a tangible health reason for a person to wear silk, to relieve the suffering, wearing it is permissible in that case. This is based on the Hadith narrated by Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, allowed ‘Abd Ar-Rahman Ibn ‘Awf and Ibn Az-Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with them both, to wear silk because they suffered from a skin irritation. (Reported by Al-Bukhari, 10/295, and Muslim, 3/1646).
The scholars also allowed men to wear garments containing four fingers’ width of silk, because of the Hadith of `Umar Ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, who said that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade the wearing of silk except for an area the width of two fingers, or three or four (meaning a small amount of silk that equals two, three, or four close fingers). (Reported by Muslim, 3/1644)”
In the light of the above Fatwa, it becomes crystal clear that only small amount of silken material in man’s clothing is permissible. Needless to say that 50% is not a small amount. But, we have to keep in mind the fact that although there are some jurists who do not consider it Haram to have a small amount of silk or a small amount of silken material in men’s clothing, it is still better to avoid pure silken neckties, gloves, etc., in obedience to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who told us that men should not wear gold and silk.
Re: Silk Ties for Men?
dunn think any of my ties are wider at their widest point than the width of four fingers. so kewl, its all good.
who needs silk, one should go for top o the line egyptian cotton shirts by turnbull and asser, and super 120’s wool suits by zegna, ditch the tie, a platinum ring by bvlragi, and a patek phillipe watch is my style, finished off with some slvatore ferrgamo shoes.
I oly do halaal stuff mah sistahs and brothas, no gold or silk for me. puhleez
PS: it appears that skinny ties are more islamic than wide ties.
