Silk/Faux Silk box/folder Invitations with embelishments

Does anyone know where I can get invitations like these in the US? Possibly from a store, or it could be online but something that won’t break my pocket?

Or does anyone know where I can get faux silk folders with embelishments or how I can makes these?

Any help would be appreciated.

What is the average price people pay for about 100 regular paper and envelope wedding invitations these days?

Re: Silk/Faux Silk box/folder Invitations with embelishments

I'm here but unfortunately, in the US, silk boxes and folder invitations will break your bank for sure. Although you could try Minted.com for the folder style- it'll involve some DIY but Minted has beautiful designs. You can also order folders from CardsandPockets.com but again, there's DIY involved. Why don't you consider letterpress? It won't break your bank as badly as silk boxes/folders will and it looks gorgeous in person- very tactile and very, very elegant and chic. BellaFigura.com is a great place for letterpress.
Re: average price for 100- it depends on the kind of printing you choose (digital, offset, or letterpress) and whether you're going for custom design or picking from a catalogue. Also how much embellishment you are looking for on your piece.

The kind of invite you've posted is usually upwards of $40 per piece!

whats DIY and whats letterpress?

Re: Silk/Faux Silk box/folder Invitations with embelishments

DIY = do it yourself

letterpress = vintage form of printing whereby the ink is pressed into the paper creating a very beautiful, tactile end product. it is done by hand and most of the machines date from the early 1900's. it was a dying form until its revival in the last few years and now its one of the most coveted printing techniques around!

what would I have to do myself? I actually just want the folders with the embelishments, I was going to print the invites myself ne way.

Re: Silk/Faux Silk box/folder Invitations with embelishments

I am a graphic designer in Denver, Colorado,and I've been creating custom invitations for many years. I am currently working to create something very similar to what you are looking for in a silk material folder or maybe a lower cost paper that looks like silk, but I haven't perfected it yet...and that means I don't have any idea of pricing yet. I know there are lots of paper stocks out there that are FABULOUS and will look great for what you are trying to do. I am trying to create a pocket folder with a hole in the front. You would insert 2 or 3 sheets making up your invitation, the first one would have your photo. They would all tie together with a ribbon and come out from the top of the silk envelope. It would mail in a clear envelope...pretty cool, huh? As soon as I figure out how to do the silk fabric folder or something similar I'd love to help brides like you. If you want to keep in touch, please do. I am guessing I should have all the specifics in the next few weeks. If you want something made of just a wonderful silk-looking textured paper and not actual silk material, I know how to pull that off already. Hope I'll have more good news soon. Mikki.
