Lahore:CARREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ASIC/EMBEDDED SOFTWARE DESIGN ENGINEERS

Palmchip Corporation, a Silicon Valley based ASIC design company, is starting its design centre in Lahore, Pakistan. We have a number of positions open for engineers (B.Sc. EE, M.Sc. EE, BCS, MCS) with 1-5
years experience in ASIC and Embedded Software Design and implementation. Outstanding fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. Attractive salary packages commensurate with experience and education would be offered to selected candidates.

ASIC Design Engineers/Managers

Required Experience

1: Strong knowledge of ASIC Design Flow and methodology, Verilog (VHDL a PLUS!!),
Synopsys,Compiler Design, Primetime, Computer System Architecture.
2: Experience with test synthesis, ATPG, FPGAs and board level bring-up. Familiarity with UNIX, C, Perl,shell programming.

Responsibilities

1: Develop general system specification and architecture for SOCs.
2: Perform synthesis, testing, timing analysis and ATPG for SOCs.

Embedded Software Design Engineers/Managers

Required Experience

1: Strong Knowledge of Linux OS, kernel, drivers,API, installation, configuration, management,interrupts, device drivers, mmu and system bus.

2: Experience of porting Linux to board support packages, writing tools and applications for board support packages, board debug tools, debugger software, emulators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, developing boot code and low-level kernel software,coding and testing for embedded systems.

3: Familiarity with MIPS and/or ARM7/9 architecture.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of SOC, boot codes and low-level kernel software.

Thats a good news! but don't think they will find many experienced ones ... we were looking for some but no joy so far.

enough people have left US recently duue to a downturn in telecom and high tech in the last few years, plus visa issues that the skills needed may be in better supply than they were 5 years ago.
