Silence as conducive to perceptive thinking

for perceptive excercises, do you believe silence has its own gradient of inspirational times?
if there are these, then what are they?
share a silence situation in which you feel that you can think better?

I've learned that when we are speaking we are not listening, to anyone outside nor to ourselves inside.

Re: Silence as conducive to perceptive thinking

that is not true for everyone. people (parents of teens) say that when i speak, it is like i speak for the best of all whom i care for and know and when i listen to them, they are actually soothed by what my listening validation does to them. but then, quite humbly, it is God's gift.
so, i feel that i have more of a percept to look at people's speaking styles and when i see a teenager hurried through his/her counseling session, i know for sure that s/he is racing for life, with all that is going on in their lives.
silence means a lot of things, though.
do dots mean anything??
