These days we have billions of dollars of FDI flooding into Pakistan from all over the world.
Pakistan will receive a hefty $1 billion foreign direct investment from the World Sikh community. This was announced by the sikh leaders, who had gathered here from around the globe, to celebrate 500th birthday of the second Sikh guru — Guru Angad Dev.
Hey investment is investment..whether it's Sikhs, Hindus or whomever. If we get wrapped up in the politics of the matter, it will not give our people jobs, or communities development.

i disagree to that
i would rather we die than benefit from Jewish investment...ever
we are alhamdulillah capable of helping ourselves by the grace of Allah
Now, now Irem :) Even our Prophet (PBUH) traded with the Jews, so there is nothing wrong with that per se. Israel is another matter.

Malik bhai, sorry should've been clearer :) I was indeed referring to Israel, b/c I've heard Musharraf is working towards recognising Israel and the next step is going to be to establish trade ties with Israel? That definitely sucks, it will be a black day in Pakistan's history, and I hope it never comes.
:nono: Tsk tsk Irem beti, you shouldn’t believe all the rumours you hear
The government has already issued strong denials that it has no intention of recognising Israel. When balancing a rumour (Who started saying it? What is their intent in saying it) versus a statement, I know which I’d much rather believe.
political statements in pakistan are made to cater to different lobbies/audiences MS they are no reflection of actual policies ;) we all know the 'secular and liberal' direction mush wants to take us...
The biggest investment in Pakistan will , believe me, come from India. Ambanis have been itching to invest in a refinery/petrochenical plant in Gujrat for a long time but they want a gas pipeline thru Pakistan to get Iranian Gas to India. That stalled a few years back due to India-Pakisant tensions resulting in a loss of thousands of jobs which would have been created in Pakistan on a long-term basis.
Before pissing on Indian investing in Pakistan, ask yourself if Pakistan can afford to lose the prosperity that can be created by joint India-Pak ventures. Musharraf realises this and right now he wants billions of dollars of Indian investment more than anything else.
If this were not true, why are delegations of Pak and Indian businessmen visiting each other? That's happening without Mush's blessing? Same about Pak film maker wanting joint ventures with Indians. Would they be doing it if they didn't hope to make money out of it? I am aware of your intense hatred of India in general and Hindus in particular but that wouldn't stop Pakistani businessmen from wanting to make money with India.

No dice Arv..India needs to work on FDI before talk about Pak ventures. Sure some investors might be itching to get into Pak market, but overall the macroeconomic performance for Pakistan has been well without Indian involvement.
