Sikhs protest against Indian PM outside White House Wednesday 20-07-2005

WASHINGTON: Nearly a thousand Sikhs – women, children and old men – marched up and down in front of the White House on a hot and humid July evening, shouting emotional slogans against Manmohan Singh and demanding the establishment of a Sikh homeland.
Dr Amarjit Singh, director of the Khalistan Affairs Centre, said the US and the world must take notice of the “current reign of terror let loose in the Sikh homeland of Punjab, on orders of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was appointed, not elected.”
Many of the men were wearing distinct saffron turbans, with the marchers led by a group holding aloft saffron coloured flags of Independent Khalistan. The marchers had come from all over the United States and everyone agreed that it was an impressive show. The slogans being shouted by the protesters were indicative of their feelings. Some of the more popular slogans of the day were, ‘Indian, out of Khalistan’, ‘Sikhs demand Khalistan,’ ‘Who is the Terrorist? Indian government.’, ‘Liberty of Death,’ ‘Free political prisoners,’ ‘We shall overcome’ etc.

No, we shameless Hindus damn care for these one thousand sikhs marching at white house. These one thousand Sikhs can declare a free stateland in the adjoining park of White house.

Who cares about Khalistan anymore...except for a bunch of RICH American & Canadian Sikhs who have ZERO clue about their homeland. They just need something to rally their community around.

Ak time to hide all the weapons. Musharraf is coming to get every Mullah. He is hot and he means business.
For Sikhs, please keep your fake tears to yourselves. Mullahs can’t stand two beards in the same hamam, especially when the other beard comes with a case (a case of bear too!).
Sikh demands however legitimate, are bound to fall flat. Everyone knows, a Sikh homeland will increase anarchy in one of the most sensitive regions in the world.
Time for Mullahs to grab a stone and a lota and get busy cleaning up their act. No more Saudi or Irani money, and no more fasad in Pakistan. Thank goodness, our ruling elite are finally waking up the need of the hour.

thanks for the offer but its a false doctrine, however i can see you getting hot under the collar with these protests exposing the fallacy of indian harmony i suggest you better spend your time trying to comfort these minorities who are calling for a seperate homeland!

lol, I attended the event....there were nowhere near 1,000 Sikhs protesting.....the protest was not even noticeable and so negligible that no newspapers even covered a story on it. there were more Sikhs inside the gates of the White House to welcome Dr. Singh than outside.
either way, Khalistanis represent 1% of the total Sikh population...with 99.9% of that 1% living in the West with no plans of returning...and more importantly, with absolutely no power.

Its Ok, AK, but usually you think like a Sikh, is also not an easy job.
I do not know if Sikhi is a false doctrine…but the Sikh Gurus were honest people, they were not after power and women, nor they misled people by using a false doctrine for achieving personal dirty goals.
