The post about the army officer got me interested, I was just wondering about the origins of Sikhs from Peshawar.
Met a few shop keepers, I was wondering are they Pukhtoon or Punjabi migrants?

They are punjabi migrants who settled down with the Pakhtuns.

^yes punjabi migrants and plenty of them.
it is really interesting to see them gather at their shrines in areas like hasan abdal.

they actually dont call themselves Punjabis though, they call themselves Pakhtoons the ones who are brought up and living in Peshawar, i live in and around peshawar when i visit Pakistan, and was pleasently surprised as they speak Pakhtu fluently and actually call them selves pakhtuns!

Don't feel too bubbly.
That's their majboori, assimilation with the dominant culture as much as possible is nessecary for survival.
I've met plenty too, mostly when buying guns and stuff from their shops.
Sound people, but let's not let our guards down.
