My theory is that this collection of Islamic tax has historical connotations. The Muslim invaders who invaded this subcontinent for hundreds of years were no much better than Talibans in their thinking and brutality so mass conversions followed to escape this inhuman act. this is the fact how Islam was spread forcefully. For such Islamists humanity starts with Muslims and ends with Muslims, all other human beings are zero entity. I want to ask - to wage tax upon impoverished innocent folks is taught by which text of Islam. If it exists anywhere , it needs an outright change. Make Islam a possible religion and not an impossible one, dreading the entire humanity. Those who are supporting this barbaric act are the uttermost enemies of Islam. They are insulting the vast majority of Pakistanis who are a bit progressive minded, at least not backwards. Our whole Pakistani biradari should rise against ill treatment against Women, minorities and poor people, by the jungli Talibans who are a curse on Islam.

We are human beings. we have mind. Then there are other human beings with same blood and flesh then why to act as a blind man. You might be using all modern amenities which are inventions of human mind not necessarily a muslim. You use cellphone, an internet --- don't you wonder on these simple woders. Even then we travel back to thousand years of ignorance and call ourselves great. Perhaps you need a big heart and open mind to think on these lines which have been closed by fanaticism.

True. But what is happening here is "Submission to Mullah" on the basis of threats and violence.
You wrote here when a jizya is applicable i.e. when non-Muslims want the benefit of peaceful and free practice of their faith inside an Islamic state, they owe the state a tax in return for not being conscripted to fight for the state when necessary.
In other words, non-Muslims have the luxury of not fighting for the state and pay for that luxury.
But jizya is not meant to be an extortion by non-state actors with the implied threat that if you don't pay, we will bomb/behead/rape you.
Given that Pakistan today does not fulfil the basic tenets of an Islamic caliphate, jizya has no place in our society.

Islam specifically says non-Muslim must pay taxes to live in a Muslim nation.
These Sikhs are lucky they only have to start paying now.
Question: Why non-Muslims under the Ottoman Empire don't pay this Jizia tax ?
