Re: "Sikday wele Jawaan bachhrre koun": Translation?

My wild guess will be that it is Siraiki?

Re: "Sikday wele Jawaan bachhrre koun": Translation?

It does look more like Siraiki than Punjabi. This is why I asked.

I can get the gist of what is being said. The poetry seems to be good.

Re: "Sikday wele Jawaan bachhrre koun": Translation?

Yeah it's Saraiki, it's a pretty old noha. I could get one of my Punjabi or Saraiki speaking friends to translate since I'm a Karachi waala, but none of them are online..

There was an Urdu version released by Shadman Raza a few years back, if you haven't seen it already.

Re: "Sikday wele Jawaan bachhrre koun": Translation?

I found this one after listening to Shadman Raza's.
The poetry of the two seems to be different to me.

Re: "Sikday wele Jawaan bachhrre koun": Translation?

can somebody post the noha here using Youtube link.... I cant open Youtube on my comp.

Re: “Sikday wele Jawaan bachhrre koun”: Translation?

wow. you did do justice with the translation, didnt you. Not being saraiki yourself, Im impressed. And a very heart touching Noha too :hinna: Saraiki Nohay are heart rending.

Re: “Sikday wele Jawaan bachhrre koun”: Translation?

Well i wudnt know until some siraki speaking person approves my translation.
Indeed siraki Nohas are heart touching. The poetry is great.
Here is another Siraki Noha from Multan Party.

Hinko nohas have great poetry too, I will post some hinko nohas here soon, Inshallah. Two great hinko poets from our city (attock) passed away in past three years but they did great amount of work in Noha Khuawani, One is Baqir Naqvi who passed away about a week ago and other Faizi; he passed away on 10th moharam in 2008. May ALLAH Accpet there work and grant both of them great rewards.
