Even the furniture and car seats stay in the original plastic packaging. Since they have to use the fridge and microwave therefore they take it out of it otherwise they would also stay covered to make sure they look new for next 50 years. I do not know what’s up with desies and their love for covering every thing with clear plastic. Oh at one desi relatives home we were given pillows which were covered with clear plastic.
And when you grow enough to fit into those clothes they are handed down to some cousin who is younger than you.
That is true for shoes too.
