Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
Hindus also beleive that whoever is devotee of Bhagwan Shiv becomes very much intelligent and powerful, Both Bhagwan Ram and Rawan were devotee of Shiv.
I studied in many Kendriya Vidyalayas across India, in our school sanskrit was taught between class 5 to class 9, school prayer started with Tamso ma jyotirgamay and ended with om sahno bhavtu:), I was very good student in sanskrit and was equally good in maths, the hindi poetry like that of Dinkar is so beautiful because of Tatsam(loned from sanskrit) words:k:, the language itself has so much power the chanting mantra in chorus charges the environment:)
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
I think all schools in the subcontinent begin with some sort of prayer :). Do pakistanis have a chance to study sanskrit in university ? I know it is not as common to study at school level there but are not the students of ancient history and archeology required to learn ?
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
As per my experience, people were more receptive to studying sanskrit than hindi down south :D. But I think the present crop of students are changing that trend .
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
Asto maa sadgamaya was the shloka of the begining and Om sahno bhavtu was the end of prayer.
The reason of sanskitization of hindi was to make it appealing and majority people in south are telgu speakers which peobably has highest sansrit content:)
Even in India urdu, persian, arabic are major course in Islamic institute lika AMU,Jamia Millia delhi, Osmania university etc:)
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
In India also, socially, urdu is langauge of muslim, though second official status in some state, Hindi is both written and spoken widely in nothern India, promoting hindi is also taken with suspicion in many states in south.
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
Urdu had all capabilities to make it place in Bengal (West Pakistan) and all over Pakistan and it did, but forced imposition made it alien in the land where it started. I’m referring to Calcutta (Bengal), birth place of Urdu.
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
Every ethnicity has its own ethnic language and no other language can be superimposed on it, even though Hindi is official language of India, majority of hindi speaking areas speak in haryanavi, braj, avadhi, maithili, bhojpuri etc, all these are dialects of hindi, Begali was well defined language with its own script, unlike punjabi or sindhi which were mostly written in multiple script, Urdu in all its prime cannot become mother tongue of punjabis let alone far more intellectual bengal:)
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
Yes marathis love hindi, have bollywood there but hate Hindi speakers:D, even gujjus are good at hindi, modi speaks far better and clear hindi that leaders from Maharashtra, even Gujjus because of their exposure with the entire world can communicate better than marathis.
Jerusalem was best when it was under sultan salhuddin before him and after him it is mess. Yeah Kurdistan, soon they might have new country if uncle sam wishes so.
Re: Significant / Prominent Personalities in Indo-Pak History..
Average guuju is better that average marathi in Hindi, you can see RSS people like Pramod Mahajan were no where as good as modi, not even Ram Madav is as good as modi:)
