I dont getthe tap water and love life connection - in my case, turning it off as top priority is due to water being a scarce commodity, so wasting it seems immoral.

Also clothes hung to dry - more about conserving energy - in the days of driers, only reason one hangs clothes outside is to conserve energy. So by bringing the clotes back before they get wet, we can save energy - this added effort is society driven - not money driven.
