Sightseeing Suggestions for a Short Night Dubai Layover Please.

Salaam! I have a 7 hour layover in Dubai with 4-5 hrs to spare before the connecting flight. I considered the night tour but will miss it. Is there anything to do there after 9:30 pm? I’d rather spend time outside the airport since visa is not an issue. I will be traveling with family including small kids. All suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you. And a happy new year to everyone in advance

Since you will be arriving quite late at night you don't have many options.

I would suggest visiting Burj Khalifa(worlds tallest building) and the musical fountains at Dubai mall. Both are open till 11.30. Also go inside the mall where there is plenty to do, kidzania and Sega republic for the kids, their is also an aquarium and ice rink. The mall opens till 12 during the week and 1 at weekend ie thursday n Friday nights. Check the websit to confirm.

Not sure If this is much time as by the time you get through immigration it can take about an hour or over. So it could be 10.30/11 by te time you get out of the airport if your flights arrive at 9.30. U need to get back to th airport n cross security as well so need to be careful.

i would suggest you stay put at the airport as you are traveling with family [wife N kid/s]...the kid will probably too tire to enjoy any outing after the long journey and that too arriving late at night. they need rest before their next flight. also, any thing can potentially go wrong traffic wise while you are in the town and may get stuck thus missing your flight.

if i were you, i would stay at the airport. if you have a family in town then go and visit them for a few hours.

Dubai airport in itself is so huge if you had a longer layover would be worth leaving and coming back but with kids may be abit too much.

Thank you all for your replies. Actually, we will be arriving at around 8:30 pm and it will be New Year's Eve. Going to the downtown area would be out of question but do you think It would possible to catch the fireworks from anywhere in Dubai Festival City/Creeskside? Thank you for your input.
