Koidu president hails Pak military services

SIERRA LEONE: President of Sierra Leone Ahmed Tijan Kabbah during his visit to the Pakistan contingent said when the contingents from other armies refused to even go to eastern provinces of Sierra Leone being the key centre of fighting rebels, Pakistan army contingent accepted the challenge and not only overpowered the rebels three years ago but also one their hearts over a period of time, reports our correspondent.

Accompanied by his senior cabinet ministers, the president said: “The Pakistan army comprises amazingly brave and professional soldiers who are matchless in terms their military professionalism, excellent in morale and social values.”

All of us would remember the moving sacrifices of the Pakistan contingent for a very long time, he told adding, “We really salute the President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and Chief of Amry Staff for maintain the the army of brave, professional and morally upright soldiers.”

“The world is proud of you, Pakistan Army”, he said.

The President during his day-long visit to the area of responsibility of the Pakistan contingent also inaugurated a school building at Simbako, Al-Sunnah Sports Complex at Koidu and Jinnah Troops Families Welfare Centre at Kenema, all constrted by the Pakistani contingent.

He also distributed Motor Rickshaws, Bicycles, Sewing Machines, computers, stationary items and a huge quantity of ration items donated by Pakistan contingent for Sierra Leone police, army needy people and student on behalf of Brigadier Sajjad Ahmed Bakhshi, Commander of the Pakistani contingent.
