Siddique kay lea haykhuda ka rasuul bus

With so many threads going on slinging mud at great personality of abu bakar :razi:, a great sahabi of the prophet :saw: i saw it fit to start a thread PRIASING him…
If you help him (Muhammad SAW) not (it does not matter), for Allâh did indeed help him when the disbelievers drove him out, the second of two, when they (Muhammad SAW and Abu Bakr) were in the cave, and he (SAW) said to his companion (Abu Bakr): “Be not sad (or afraid), surely Allâh is with us.” Then Allâh sent down His Sakînah upon him, and strengthened him with forces which you saw not, and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowermost, while it was the Word of Allâh that became the uppermost, and Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (At-Tawbah 9:40)

Volume 5, Book 57, Number 8:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

The Prophet said, “If I were to take a Khalil, I would have taken Abu Bakr, but he is my brother and my companion (in Islam).”

Volume 5, Book 57, Number 11:
Narrated Jubair bin Mutim:

A woman came to the Prophet who ordered her to return to him again. She said, “What if I came and did not find you?” as if she wanted to say, “If I found you dead?” The Prophet said, "If you should not find me, go to Abu Bakr

Volume 5, Book 57, Number 14:
Narrated 'Amr bin Al-As:

The Prophet deputed me to read the Army of Dhat-as-Salasil. I came to him and said, “Who is the most beloved person to you?” He said, " 'Aisha." I asked, “Among the men?” He said, “Her father.” I said, “Who then?” He said, “Then 'Umar bin Al-Khattab.” He then named other men.

Volume 5, Book 57, Number 18:
Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, "Anybody who spends a pair of something in Allah’s Cause will be called from all the gates of Paradise, “O Allah’s slave! This is good.’ He who is amongst those who pray will be called from the gate of the prayer (in Paradise) and he who is from the people of Jihad will be called from the gate of Jihad, and he who is from those’ who give in charity (i.e. Zakat) will be called from the gate of charity, and he who is amongst those who observe fast will be called from the gate of fasting, the gate of Raiyan.” Abu Bakr said, “He who is called from all those gates will need nothing,” He added, “Will anyone be called from all those gates, O Allah’s Apostle?” He said, “Yes, and I hope you will be among those, O Abu Bakr.”

Volume 5, Book 57, Number 24:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The Prophet once climbed the mountain of Uhud with Abu Bakr, 'Umar and 'Uthman. The mountain shook with them. The Prophet said (to the mountain), "Be firm, O Uhud! For on you there are no more than a Prophet, a Siddiq and two martyrs.

these ahadith only begin to get the point across of what the stature of abu bakar RA was in front of the rasul of Allah, and i fear for the one who has enimity towards the greatest man of the ummah of Mohammad SAW…

this hadith deserved its own post because it is from the mouth of hazrat ali :razi: and narrated by abdullah ibn abbas, the FIRST cousin of ali :razi:,

Volume 5, Book 57, Number 26:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

While I was standing amongst the people who were invoking Allah for Umar bin Al-Khattab who was lying (dead) on his bed, a man behind me rested his elbows on my shoulder and said, "(O 'Umar!) May Allah bestow His Mercy on you. I always hoped that Allah will keep you with your two companions, for I often heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “I, Abu Bakr and 'Umar were (somewhere). I, Abu Bakr and 'Umar did (something). I, Abu Bakr and ‘Umar set out.’ So I hoped that Allah will keep you with both of them.” I turned back to see that the speaker was Ali bin Abi Talib.

now if hazrat ali :razi: had any misgivings about hazrat abu bakar due to the fadak issue, would he say such things regarding him and his closeness to the rasul of allah ??? i dont think so, so it is your own imam, and veriy one of the most beloved person to sunnis too, saying from his own mouth that the prophet of allah had abu bakar and omar as his companions that he hopes they are joined togther, and since rasul of allah :saw: is going to jannat ul firdaus no doubt about it, we can hope that his companions too will end up with him…and allah has the best of guidance…

:jazak:

How great were some companions we can only imagine.

There are so many hadiths which talk about their greatness. Its funny how people seem to miss these.

Sahih Bukhari, Book 56:
Virtues and Merits of the Prophet (pbuh) and his Companions

Sahih Muslim, Book 31:
The Book Pertaining to the Merits of the Companions

Jazakallah o khair wa ahsan al jaza...

thank you for the reminders. Much appreciated, keep em coming

the contention between Ali (ra) and Abu Bakr (ra) was, as hadith in bukhari has it, in words of Ali (ra) "we were the closest in blood relation to the Prophet (saw) and we thought u wud take our advice in the khilafat"....
and when Abu Bakr (ra) asked him if he did not support his khilafat, Ali (ra) said "there is no one better than u among us who can take this position"....

I was searching something else and came across the following from Islam QA, It just seemed appropriate.

Imaam Ibn Hazm quoted a report with an isnad going back to Hishaam ibn ‘Ammaar, who said: “I heard Maalik ibn Anas say: ‘Whoever curses Abu Bakr should be whipped, and whoever curses ‘Aa’ishah should be killed.’ He was asked, ‘Why do you say that concerning (the one who curses) ‘Aa’ishah?’ He said, ‘Because Allaah says concerning ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her (interpretation of the meaning): “Allaah forbids you from it [slander] and warns you not to repeat the like of it forever, if you are believers.” [al-Noor 24:17]’”

Maalik said: “Whoever accuses her goes against the Qur’aan, and whoever goes against the Qur’aan should be killed.”

Also found the following interesting from the same site Who is better and more knowledgeable – Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, or ‘Ali?

i cant find the story about when abu bakr :razi: brings all of his household belongings to the rasul of allah :saw: and when he asks him that o abu bakar have you left anything for your family, he replies that the name of allah and his rasul is enough for them…it was that incident that caused iqbal to write the poem about him, and his the end he says
“parwanay ko charaq hay bulbul ko phool bus
siddique kay lea hay khuda ka rasul bus”

the incident is of the time of ghazwa-e-tabuk (correct me if i am wrong)....
the muslims were severly in need of finances....
abu bakar (ra) was knows for his generosity in spending for the cause of Islam....
this was a time when much help was needed....
Umar (ra) always envied Abu Bakar's (ra) suprtiority over him in matters of charity, hence he thought this was a time for overcoming him....
he took all he possessed, divided it in two equals and took one for the Prophet (saw)....
on inquiry, he told the Prophet (saw) that he had left half for the home and brought half for the muslims....
and at the same time Abu Bakar (ra) came along with his contribution....
the Prophet (saw) asked him "have u left anything for ur hmoe and family?"....
Abu Bakar (ra) replied that "the name of Allah and His Messenger is enuff for them"....

i think at this incident Umar (ra) exclaimed that he can never supercede Abu Bakar (ra)....

jazakallah khair brother
and people call him greedy,...may allah have mercy on us all....

Abu Baker's charities, if any, cannot be compared at all to the charities of the ahl-bait.

You say that he said Allah and his prophet (pbuh) are with my family. However, Imam Hussain (as) gave his family to Allah (swt).

So how will you compare.

In knowledge, in bravery, in iman, and in closeness to Allah (swt) and his prophet (pbuh), please provide me with proofs as to when Abu Baker surpassed Imam Ali (as).

His angering the prophet's daughter so much so that she died angry at him has decided his fate.

The rest is with Allah (swt).

No sahabah can come close to the ahl-bait. They knew it and never claimed as such.

hazrat abu bakar (ra) holds a rank higher than any of the ahl-e-bait....

yes this waqiyaa is in PAk Islamiat also.

Yes. After the wisaal of Last Prophet Muhammad(may Allahs peace and blessing be upon him), It was Hazrat Abu Bakr(RA) who told people
that worship Allah and Allah alone.

Boy;

Just shows what knowledege you have.

Not even yr molvis will claim such a thing. Gumrah.

Sad.

now surely i aint going thru the trouble of finding the exact hadith for u, but it says that the imaan (faith) of Abu Bakr weighs more than all the rest of the ummah (which includes other companions and ahl-e-bait too) put together....

and if any molvi denies that, i will definitely doubt his knowledge and will not believe in whatever he says....

Please go to the qur'an and understand the following:

The pay-back for the prophet's (pbuh) efforts is the love of his ahl-bait.

His ahl-bait have been purified of all sins.

Abu baker was recalled back from delivering the message of a quranic surah and in his place Allah (swt) commanded the prophet (pbuh) to send Ali (as).

The event of Mubhaila clearly differented the ahl-bait from ordinary sahabahs.

In knowledge, wisdom, and piety, Imam Ali (as) had no equals besides the prophet (pbuh)

Your prayers are incomplete until you send blessings to the prophet (pbuh) and his ahl.

And with all this, you hold to yr views.

Gumrah.
