Hunger can make you do things you would never do if you weren't hungry. The earthquake victims are dying of hunger, many of them. So its easy to judge. I don't think its right, by any means. But we're not in their position. I bet there are plenty of sickos here who would do the same thing if they were in that position.
You should read up on some of the holocaust stories...parents fighting their own children for food in concentration camps...
