Why just blame the ring leader? In most cases, parents often approve of such "deals" because they are assured of money and actually push their children into it citing the prospect of a "better" life.
This is what you call the total absence of faith.

Exactly my thoughts. How does a kid feel knowing that their own parents sold them for a frigging house. why do you have a house in the first place, for your kids. I can’t imagine the desparation that these people are experiencing. They sell their bodies, their blood just to eat and survive. But selling your child is the most absurd thing a parent can do.
This abduction and also selling of children by their own parents for the sex trade has been happening for a long time, even before the quake. Unfortunately this tragedy has given people in the trade an opportunity to take advantage of vulnerable children. I saw a documentary a while ago on this subject on PBS and it’s really stuck with me. Hunger can make you do things you would never do if you weren't hungry. The earthquake victims are dying of hunger, many of them. So its easy to judge. I don't think its right, by any means. But we're not in their position. I bet there are plenty of sickos here who would do the same thing if they were in that position.
You should read up on some of the holocaust stories...parents fighting their own children for food in concentration camps...
