So when we’re sick, we tend to eat certain staple items like
Chicken Soup
Yakhni
Patli khichri
Those are all I can think of off the top of my head.
What else is there?
And how do you make your chicken soup?

That’s pretty good.
Green tea is awesome…love that stuff.
Re: Sick Food ![]()
chicken soup is all about the broth/stock!!! you have to have a properly made stock or else nothing you do will make the proper chicken soup!!! this is how i do it…I make a lot a freeze it…I use chicken stock in a lot of different things..
whole chiken
large yellow onions, unpeeled and quartered
carrots, unpeeled and halved
stalks of celery with leaves, cut into thirds
sprigs fresh parsley
sprigs of fresh thyme
sprigs of fresh dill
head of garlic, unpeeled and cut in 1/2 crosswise
kosher salt
whole black peppercorns
Place the chickens, onions, carrots, celery, parsley, thyme, dill, garlic, and seasonings in a stockpot. Add **cold **water and bring to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, for about 3 hours. Strain the entire contents of the pot through a colander and discard the solids. Chill the stock overnight. The next day, remove the surface fat. Use immediately or pack in containers and freeze for up to 3 months.
For the solids, I remove the skin from the chicken and shred the meat. I save the cooked carrots and celery (toss out the onions because it will be all mushy). I’ll put some of the meat and carrot in the strained stock and add egg noodles to make the perfect chicken soup!!!
You can add any aromatics you like to make the stock: bayleaf, cloves, cinnamon…whatever strikes your fancy!

Re: Sick Food ![]()
Water will depend on the size of your pot…just make sure everything is covered by the water nicely, but not filled to the brim so that it boils over, if that makes sense !
Use whatever onions you have.
