i watched this documentry about it and it said that f*** off just means go away but in a more meaner way and shut up is just be quiet. Therefor shut up is a swearword

shutup is very rude..., instead of saying s-up, just ask the person to "please refrain from opening your mouth" or say "your beautiful lips look better if they touch each other"...:)
