Both PPP and PMLN are responsible for the woes of the country. The period between 88 and 99 is the worst of the country. A tug of war continued between the federal and provincial governments which resulted in cancelling the projects begun by the opponent. This resulted in exodus of foreign investment from the country.
The loadshedding that we see now is an example of what happened then. IPPs were basically a PMLN project but implemented by PPP. When PMLN came to power and found out that they can use it as a political point scoring, they started taking action against power producers indiscriminately, as a result scaring most of them away. A 6000 MW coal project was also shelved as a consequence. PMLN started building motorway, when PPP got power they tried to cancel it but (when they couldnt) they reduced its lanes. The way Nawaz Sharif behaved between 1997-99 brought us martial law commencing our journey to the stone ages.
In 2008, a new dawn began with PPP (landing the federal government) and PMLN winning Punjab. There were high hopes that the parties would have reformed themselves after all these years of hardship. Here we are, still sliding down the steep slope; no electricity, water, gas, fuel, jobs and (record) terrorism.
Dear Pakistanis please shun the statusquo parties in the coming elections. Give way to something new, lets take another chance. If PTI does not perform we can vote them out in 2018 and try something else. We have to punish those who have brought us here, and this can only be through the power of our votes.
Enough of us serving the political parties like slaves…

all jokes aside its a gamble in any case PPP PML N or PTI. PPP and Notnki league already tried and tried and failed horses, PTI never been tried but looks promising just like PPP and Notanki league campaigning for their previous terms in yester years.

Agreed with basic message of this thread. But surprised about the bold part. Did the last military rule really brought us to stone ages?! Absolutely not. We can pick any report on Pakistan's economy during that time, and they will show Pakistan moving really fast. Actually those few years saved Pakistan from mis management that was done by the two monkey parties in 90s. And when the military rule was over, people got really happy to let go of the era which brought them some hope for the future. Ironic.
Then we suffered the "revenge of democracy" in the last five years. And now the other "democratic" party is readying to inflict ITS revenge on us.
In short, military rule brought us hope for a better future which is now shattered. There is no denying it.
^ the parties are made up of the leaders. PTI has given seats to 80 percent newcomers. If they don't perform they should be kicked out in the next elections. The mantra of supporting one political party since our grand grand parents were following it needs to end. The basic premise for supporting any party is who can take us out of this abyss which began after 1988.
