Re: Shrimp Alfredo Pasta and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
you can easily good for a good alfredo sauce..depending on how many calories you can handle :)
The one I make uses lots of cheese :)
1 medium container of heavy cream or half n half
1 garlic clove crushed/chopped
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup GOOD parmesan cheese grated (better to use a fresh wedge n grate urself then to buy the pre-packaged parmesan powder)
in a non/stick pan add butter until it melts. add garlic and saute just until it is slightly brown & add the heavy cream. Bring it to a boil over medium heat. Add in Parmesan cheese while stirring. Cook to desired thickness. Really I let it boil 1-2 times and shut off heat. Make sure to season with salt/pepper. Also what I like to add is a pinch of cajun seasoning for a kick.
As for the shrimp part, you can either drop the cleaned shrimp into the pasta sauce & let it cook in the sauce. Or saute seperately & add to the pasta.
What i find works well with shrimp is to marinate in some lemon juice/salt/pepper/garlic powder/chopped coriander n mint. (I really like cajun season so i add a little of that too.
Add olive oil to hot pan and saute shrimp till it turns pink. Don't overcook shrimp.
