Re: Shrimp Alfredo Pasta and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
Shay, I make chicken Alfredo pasta. I guess you can replace the chicken by shrimps,,right?
This is how I make chicken alfredo.
I boil one pack of fresh tagliatella pasta, as I think alfredo goes best with a 'thick' pasta.
Heat a little bit of olive oil or butter in a pan, add the cubed or sliced chicken en fry till it turns white. Now add plenty of crushed garlic and fry a little more. Add coursely ground black pepper (not the fine powder), salt and if you want a bit of chilly in there some crushed dry red pepper.
Now mix in around 2 cups of cream (35%) and let it simmer untill the sauce thickens. I also add round slices of onion and slices mushrooms cuz I just love how they taste in combination with alfredo sauce. It just depends on what you like.
At the end add some fresh chopped parsley.
Btw, I keep checking if the salt is ok, and if you feel like you need more cream then add some more. I just make it andazy se.
And you can top it with any cheese you like, preferably one that 'melts' easily.
Re: Shrimp Alfredo Pasta and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
you can easily good for a good alfredo sauce..depending on how many calories you can handle :)
The one I make uses lots of cheese :)
1 medium container of heavy cream or half n half
1 garlic clove crushed/chopped
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup GOOD parmesan cheese grated (better to use a fresh wedge n grate urself then to buy the pre-packaged parmesan powder)
in a non/stick pan add butter until it melts. add garlic and saute just until it is slightly brown & add the heavy cream. Bring it to a boil over medium heat. Add in Parmesan cheese while stirring. Cook to desired thickness. Really I let it boil 1-2 times and shut off heat. Make sure to season with salt/pepper. Also what I like to add is a pinch of cajun seasoning for a kick.
As for the shrimp part, you can either drop the cleaned shrimp into the pasta sauce & let it cook in the sauce. Or saute seperately & add to the pasta.
What i find works well with shrimp is to marinate in some lemon juice/salt/pepper/garlic powder/chopped coriander n mint. (I really like cajun season so i add a little of that too.
Add olive oil to hot pan and saute shrimp till it turns pink. Don't overcook shrimp.

Re: Shrimp Alfredo Pasta and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
Ok... I first make the gue with flour and butter-oil. I add garlic paste to the butter oil before adding flour to make the gue. Cook the garlic paste for a few mins, then add flour and cook that thing for few mins, then slowly add milk to it. Use a whisk and smoothen the paste, add milk till you get the desire consistancy (make sure it is not too think because it will thicken up when you add cheese and pasta). Then add your shrimps. shrimps taste really yummy is you can sort of grill them before hand, if you cannot then just add shrimps, cover the sauce and let them cook, they will be done in 2-3 mins. Once your shrimps have turned pink, add cheese, i use mixture of mozerralla and parmesan cheese. Mix the cheese and you sauce is ready. All your boiled fettucini pasta to the sauce, incorporate the sauce in the pasta and you are done.
Like shino said you have to keep ckecking the sauce, add more salt if needed, or more milk, or more cheese...

Re: Shrimp Alfredo Pasta and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
for the steak sandwiches; wht I do is get thin slices of steak, add some water and garlic powder and "gala lo" in the pressure cooker.
Take the meat out and brown it on a skillet.
Separately, soften onion and green peppers (cut in rings); when soft enough add A1 sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, and HP steak sauce. Cook a lil.
Now add the meat in the vegetable mixture until its cooked.
Get hoagies/subs--slice in middle, add some mayo, very light mustard and cheese slices (they will melt when u add the hot mixture). Add the meat/veggies. and Enjoy
