Who said no good can come out of a bad thing, I am not talking about Anti, but he mentioned Show-Shaw-Lism, I liked the term, it made me think and I realized that Its like pretending what you are not, or saying one thing and doing the total opposite or its like behaving and acting in certain way which has nothing to do with you in reality that’s what real Show-Shaw-lism is all about.
I was thinking isn’t Show-Shaw-Lism the current political system in Pakistan. Look at the members of MMA, they vowed on the Quran that they will work hard for establishing an Islamic system and society, the same MMA provincial government members ended up getting 10 million rupees each for voting in the recent Pakistan senate elections. That’s real Show-Shaw-lism from MMA. The current government which never stops chanting “enlighten moderation” mantra, would never like to talk and listen to any opposition to its policies, that’s Show-Shaw-lism in moderation. Recently for solving the sugar crisis, NAB boasted about bringing justice to the people of Pakistan, that was pure Show-Shaw-lism. Have you heard about the scores and scores of PML members joining the government in a blatant depiction of Show-Shaw-lism. Not to mention PPP… they invented Show-Shaw-lism.
Its not just the political parties its our society which are involved in this, the independent electronic media of Pakistan is spearheading the policy of Show-Shaw-lism as well. Pakistani Drams are pure Show-Shaw-lism, have you ever seen a drama on 1971 war, or about the 58 Martial law, nor would you see a drama on Hamud ur Rahman Commission report, or about Justice Nisar but why would they do that, they follow Show-Shaw-lism after all.
