Listen...u have no idea what ur talkin abt.

Islam does prohibit inflicting pain on ur body.....but as far as bodybuilding is concerned, its only physical exercise. Nothing wrong with that, infact you are only making ur self more fit and strong.

The only pain u get is cramps....u can get cramps from playing any outdoor sport...is that gonna be haraam too.

Lastly dont go around saying something is haraam or not. Cause neither you nor I am a sheikh, or a scholar. So if some one believes your verdict, and if you are wrong....u are gonna be answerable to Allah on the Day of Judgement...So refrain from such comments in the future.

It is encouraged in Islam to keep yourself fit. Working out and inflicting self harm are two totally different things.

Everybody should work out as it keeps the body fit. Don't lift too heavy weights. I think Islam encourages such activities. (Allah knows better)

Guys what's wrong if he had asked?....when you aren't sure about something you ask...

Sorry bhai but I don't know....but if it hurts you then don't do it..or do some lighter stuff....:)

We have some other forums for chit chat. Some replies have been removed from this thread. Please read the rules of Religion Forum, before posting. Thanks.

Islam encourages one to take care of oneself, eat healthily and EXERCISE!! obviously if u go overboard u strain urself and hurt urself but it is not self inflicted harm like slashing ur wrists or something.

Yaar faisal, phir mera reply nikal diya... but it's true, I am a scholar, the other part, I was being sarcastic.

Re: Shouldn't working out be haram?

Good question, here's the deal: working out will hurt like hell only if:
- you haven't worked out in ages and are stretching your muscles after a long long time, same thing will happen if you play some sport after a long time
- if you don't stretch properly at the beginning it can also hurt

If you're a regular exerciser, I don't think its normal to be sore for a maximum of 2-3 days. Just make sure you stretch before and after.

And I don't think there's any way this is haram, since having babies also hurts women (prob much more than workign otu does), but that's not haram. Put it in perspective.

Islam has prescribed limits(boundaries) for everything.
My opinion do not go to extreme in anything.
Anyways, body buliding as a professional sport must not
be allowed.Becuase its close to being nude.
