Shouldn't we be allowed to vote

in the coming US elections and by We, I mean Pakistanis, Iranians, Iraqis, Saudis, Libyans, Syrians, Egyptians…since our futures will be at stake. What kind of democracy is this where 250 million people (of which less than 40% vote) get to choose “a man” (feminists take note) that could indirectly influence the lives of 6 billion people?
Shouldn’t the citizens of lets say, Iran, be allowed to pick an american president worthy of making war on them?

maybe the citizens of the countries you mentioned should be able to vote in their own countries for their pres/pm before thinking of voting for pres of american people?

NO, you need to tow the line or :smash:

if Pakistanis, Iranians, Iraqis, Saudis, Libyans, Syrians, Egyptians.. etc allow americans to vote in their country then may be we can talk.
but will they ??

so the whole argument is ridiculas.

we've already "allowed" them to 'vote'.. notice the presence of the America Ambassadors at the higest levels of meetings of our own country..

5Abi is right. In Iran this year there were over 50 “reform” candidates who were not allowed to run for the legislature because their candidacies were “decertified” by the ruling Imams.

Consider how free the Muslim world is to vote. (And, perhaps OBL will let ME vote of the next head of Al-Qeadda, who also has the power to effect global policy!)

“The largest freedom gap exists in countries with a majority Muslim population, especially in the Arab world. But the survey finds no inexorable link between Islam and political repression. Indeed, it shows that half of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims live under democratically elected governments in countries like Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Turkey (see:www.freedomhouse.org/research/muslimpop2004.pdf). Yemen, Osama Bin Laden’s ancestral home and a known refuge for al Qaeda, demonstrated notable progress in 2003, moving from Not Free to Partly Free because of increased civic participation in the country’s political process.”
