Shouldn't Flintoff be retained as captain

As we have witnessed in recent test match in Mumbai, Pak tour and earlier epic Ashes win, througout these high profile series one man stands above the team and inspires each and everyone with his astonishing performance and Charisma. His captaincy during Indian tour showed the signs of greatness for the highest post as well. He is for sure the future captain of England, but shouldn’t be Vaughan’s dull leadership be given some rest and bring the most inspirational body at the front?

I think ECB is thinking about it seriously and we might see a decision in few weeks.

Re: Shouldn't be Flintoff retained as captain

Nice to read a different thread for a change, Smooth_guy Bhai. A breath of fresh air.

Yes, I do agree to the proposed mentioned practices that Flintoff has rather been a very charismatic and energy-spirited captain for his side in the recent times. Not that Vaughan was any less fashion-oriented than what Flintoff is right now, but the latter takes the charge, from both the batting side and bowling side, to all-new heights. It would be nice to see what Flintoff's captaincy brings to the table after a few more series, and he should be given an extended pass for at least until the end of the World Cup, if the English team were to pose a threat in International Cricket.

Re: Shouldn't Flintoff be retained as captain

Keep Vaughan as test captain and Flintoff as ODI captain. Vaughan is no good for ODIs anyway.

Re: Shouldn't Flintoff be retained as captain

Its good for Flintoff to have gained hands on experience of captaincy. He sure will be a good captain, but at few times during the tour he was bit defensive.

It would be better for him to be a deputy for another year and then he would shine.
