Shoulder/Back Pain & Laptop/Shoulder Bags

I am tried of carrying a laptop/shoulder bag for accessories. After some bouts with shoulder pain, I stopped carrying everything in the laptop bag.

Any of you guys try small messanger bags for your wallet/mobile/keys/sun-glasses? I tried a TUMI messanger bag but it wasn’t very organized.

Any recommendations?

I carry my laptop in my backpack, it is more comfortable then those stupid laptop bags.

I bought a laptop bag with two shoulder straps because I used to bicycle to work. They are out there, try circuit city.

I like small messenger bags, I bought one long ago from Gap or something. But since they have became more of a fashion statement.

Is it for daily accessories or laptop?

What do you do when you are not carrying your laptop around? How do you manage your chooti mooti cheezain that you put in your messanger bag?

i used a messenger bag for the longest time for all my humungo books and it was too small and i hurt

now i’m carrying a backpack again after all these years for all my humungo books and now i have pains in a different location :smack:

who wants to carry all this crap :aj:

For books, use a small bag with wheels.

Waisay, I have been thinking...with all this outsourcing and cheap indian labor, we could get strong indian people to carry our bags for us. You know, like the little bicycle lunch service they have. I tell them when and where I need my bags carried and lo and behold, there is a chap at the airport ( from bangalore) waiting to carry my laptop bag for me.

Do you think I'd have to tip him though?

I hate those things..on the train, in the cafeteria, in calss, they take up so much damn space and i can’t imagine they’d be comfortable to carry around…like are you going to class or u goin to Pakistan or somethin :rolleyes:

I carry most of my books in my bags, and stuff like a lil bit of change, or my cell fone, or keys and debit card i’d carry them on in my jacket pocket..

I carry all that stuff in my backpack, I am a student so it works well for me.

I ended up investing in a smaller lighter weight laptop. I barely feel its on my back. It even fits in my purse.

Way to go … buy a “notebook” rather than “laptop” specially if you have everyday comute to do :slight_smile:

I stopped carrying my laptop in my backpack, as it killed my shoulders and back. The books and binders alone are quite bad (for the shoulders and back).

I'm also looking into getting a lighter laptop; however, waiting for the right price.

How well do the messenger bags work for books and laptop?

I have seen some really nice ones. You can carry couple of notebooks and a laptop. See the Tumi links I posted above.

I checked in overstock and amazon, and there are quite a few cross-body/shoulder bags for accessories. Prices and sizes vary.
