I have noticed a number times that there are many people in Pakistan who break records, invent things, design things and so on. People say MashaAllah to them - which I like, but then go on to praise Pakistan for that … why?
In many cases the official face of Pakistan use such people and leave them to waste or they do not even offer them support for further progress, yet Pakistan is being praised.
In the case of Cricket, Hockey and Squash and such things then I am all for it because the people are selected by the authorities to represent Pakistan … but why do we jump to making national heroes out of individuals when to get there the nation has done nothing to help them?
Re: Should we praise Pakistan for the achievement of individuals?
What is 'Pakistan' here? is it an entity? a body? an evil being? i thought a country is made up of individuals. When people can put down 'Pakistan' when someone does a nasty thing here, why can't such praise be justified?

I think that the atmosphere and resources of a country made available to the individuals do affect the record breaking performances. The atmosphere, opportunities and resources available in Pakistan may not be at par compared to other countries, but what we individual Pakistanis are its just due to our country and other country men.

What this guy said. If people can save negative things about Pakistan for the actions of an individual. You can do the opposite.

That is just the thing ... I have seen that most of the people who do these great feats are neither supported by the government nor do the societal facilities make it easy for them to achieve these great deeds. They do it off their own steam despite the hardships, they are urged by family and are given tawfiq by God to exceed against the odd that Pakistan throws at them - yet Pakistan gets praised ... I think that is unfair to their efforts and puts Pakistan (i.e. the government and the significant majority) in a light which it does not deserve.

But I do not believe that Pakistan should be put down due to individuals either ...
Re: Should we praise Pakistan for the achievement of individuals?
My personal take on it is that someone does something great in Pakistan ... and since we are Pakistani - to find some sort of common element between us and the actual person who did the great deed, we want a piece of that glory cake ... and despite putting no effort in ourselves we say "Pakistan zindabaad" as though our existence makes such things possible.
