Which part, Moin or Rashid?
well,,, Rashid was performing well till the series of Bangla Desh, but suddenly his performance declined to the lowest edge..
but I consider that was cozed by an emotional back drop..
you cannot compare Rashid Keeping skills with Moin, if Moin was a killer batsman like Gilchrist then no problem , other wise, w/k'er is such a important player, we cannot have catch loosers like Moin in the team..
I m sure when rashid will come bac , he will be recharged and back to normal.. and it was good for himt hat he toko a brake...
Many players took break in the past in other international teams.. whats the big deal...

I think we should not get too involved in this controversy re Moin V Rashid. Both have plus and minus points. I prefer Moin because of the extra zest which he brings to the game and his constant encouraging of his bowlers. .

Spot On, Moin is the man!!! Bye Bye Rashid!
Whenever Rashid got picked up infront of Moin it was becasue of his keeping. We all know by now that Rashid is a better keeper then Moin. Moin on the other hand is a lot better batsman then Rashid. Now if Rashid looses any of his keeping abilities then he certainly dont merit a place in the side.
When legends like Wasim and Waqar can loose their place then why not Rashid or Moin. Mind you Akram was our best bowler in the world cup yet he was dropped on the basis of rebuilding. Moin and Rashid should have known that their place in the side will always be up for grabs depending on their performace. Rashid was given a chance as a skipper and overall he did a good job but he had his clumsy moments like dropping the sitter in the last match of Natwest Trophy. His keeping in the ODI series agaisnt South Africa was very ordinary. So why does he deserve another chance??? If Wasim, Waqar and Saeed dont deserve another chance why does Rashid??
Moin have always been an average keeper. He knows his limitations and tries to make it up in his batting. His keeping in the last match was below average. He did pick it up a notch the 3rd day but overall he not only dropped a sitter but was fumbling the ball often too, specially against the spinners. He should play in the next match and provided he doesnt make any blunders he should also play in the NZ series. If he drops one more ofthose lollypop catches in the next match, then I say tell him bye bye ![]()
Then we have some promising youngsters. Kamran did have a bad series agaisnt Bangladesh but he still deserves another chance. Then Imran Farhat’s older brother Humayun Farhat. If he is a decent keeper and half as good a batsman as his younger sibling the problem will be solved. Lets see what Moin does in the next match, if he fails I say bring in a youngster.

Read my post above. Bowlers and Batsmen can be changed because in the field they just do thier respective jobs while WK has to do a lot more. Thats why presence of Rashid OR Moin is necessery for the time being. Look at the other teams, there arent ANY young keepers apart from India.
WI = Jacobs
Eng = Stewart (just retired)
SL = Kaluwiatharana (just brought back again)
ZIM = (Flower played alongside Taibu to help him learn)
Gilchrist in a class apart s i just wont bother him. Bouhcer is pretty much settled, so that goes to show that even in a rebuilding process, presence of an experinced keeper is Absolutely essential
Saby bhai these two have to go sometime dont they?? Why not let them go when they are not performing upto the standard and bring in a youngster now. Lets say we stick with Moin and he plays fine for the next 2-3 years and then comes a time when he starts dropping sitters again. What would we do then? The same thing we are famous for, throw in a youngster with the world cup on our heads. If he can put up with the pressure well and good if not there goes his career out the window and try someone else.
Again, let me repeat, I would have no problem with retaining Rashid if the issue was just about wicket keeping ability, I know he can still do a decent job, although he's clearly slower to react these days, as we can see from all the byes he let go in the ODI's.
Quite simply if his heart isn't in the job we shouldn't offer him it back in a hurry. We need players hungry for success not players who are jaded or have other issues with management. He left us in the lurch to the point we had to recall Moin who hadn't played for 2 yrs in the middle of an important series. I think Rashid over-estimates his own importance.

They will have to go defintely, sooner rather than later. I m not talking about Moin or Rashid playing for 2-3 years, just 3-4 series would be enough for a youngsters to gel with them and learn basic tips of controlling the men in the middle. I never said 2-3 years for Rashid or Moin.
