Equating Pakistan with a ragtag shanty town like Afghanistan to make sense of the food crisis in Pakistan – that’s brilliant !!!
Afghanistan has been surviving on foreign aid crumbs for ages – they’ve no economy to talk about at all. Hence if those war mongers & opium producers are begging for food, its understandable. But in case of Pakistan, we’ve a supposedly booming economy with all kinds of healthy indicators of various sectors of economy being touted by the dictator and we did have a bumper wheat crop past year and still people have been forced out on the streets like beggars.
In which western country have you seen long lines in front of grocery stores because the country is suffering from food shortage??
Punjab was a bread basket for the entire Subcontinent... Why are we now suddenly beholden to problems arrising in other parts of the world? Punjab and Sindh to to some extent were at one time consdered among the most fertile and productive areas of the subcontinent and yet today we are dealing with food shortages and price hikes!
