Should the test matches have been played before ODI's?

A number of people have objected to the ODI’s being played before the tests in the upcoming series against India.

England routinely plays ODI’s before the tests. So why the objection? What’s the big deal?

I think the Test matches should be played before ODI's. There's no scientific explanation for the answer really. Only personal opinion. But just as main events in some other sports are reserved for the last, I dont see why ODI's, with their immense capacity to produce thrilling encounters, should not be treated as main event and played after the Test series. No denying Test matches can be quite the reason for a heart attack or two these days, but Indo-Pak test series too must hold some sort of record for the no. of series drawn. So in an ideal situation, I'd prefer to watch the Tests before the ODIs.

well for me it doest really matter IMO.

Our players are already playing both forms in domestic competition plus its a seris after 15 years for God sake and i m sure people will come in numbers to come and watch even the test matches.

In England test matches are usually sold out so it doesn't matter whether the ODIs come before or after. In Pakistan no one's interested in the 5 day game any more so it would makes sense to have the tests first while interest is at it's peak.

Generally agreed, but this is a series involving India so I think the interest will stay regardless. At least I hope so.

I would have prefered test matches before ODi's but considering the circumstances of uncertainty this series is being played,i wouldnt really care as long as its being played.

I would hope so too but after seeing the shocking turnouts for the test matches against South Africa after a long absence of cricket in Pakistan I am not so optimistic. I predict the stadiums will be half full at best by the time the test matches come round with the lazy Pak public settling down to watch the games on tv instead, having had their fun at the ODIs.
