Should religious processions be banned?

Shouldn’t they? Especially the ones in Moharram and Eid milad.
Specially in Pakistan, they serve no purpose but to create chaos and traffic disturbances and ordinary citizen who has nothing to do with these is severely affected.
Whatevere these religious groups want to do, they can do in gatherings and in their homes.
They are more of a show of the strength of involved group.

Same is true for any kind of procession on a street. They are an inconvenience for others who are not interested in that cause. Maybe there should be designated places where people (a large number of people) can conveniently get together for and do these religious or whatever speeches they need to do, instead of disrupting normal life of others on the street.

Agree about any kind of processions, but here we are discussing in religion forum, therefor discussing religious procession.

Well, the issue and the proposed solution remains the same.

Unless ofcourse, you just want to bash these religious processions.

yes these should be banned…it is the major cause of secretarian violence in pakistan…

In a free society people should be allowed to convene, if more of them wish to do so, a proper route or place should be assigned which will ensure the safety of the participants.

Every community should be allowed to practise their religion the way they want to a long as they dont hamper the safety and sanity of other citizens

the processions of Taziyaah's in moharram is a pretty imp. one for our shia brothers and it mostly doesnt harm anyone.

however th processions carried out on eid-milad-un-nabi are nit very important coz that is basically the day for holding milads.

It's every man's right to lead a religious procession if that is what that person believes in. Actually, it can also be a sign of religious democracy if a government is tolerant towards such show of religious fervor. I understand though that some religious processions can be quite unconstructive and meaningless...sometimes even downright harmful as is the case with Shia marches through streets during Muharram. It's how you look as it.

:)

I find Azans blasting out of loudspeakers so annoying when I am listening to hard rock in the comfort of my room. Why can't they just do it once a week? Or better once a year.
