Well every idea in the beggining finds its critics, this has always been the way the world works. People were laughing few decades ago of the thought that there will be personal computers at all and now you can see for yourself. More recently, when Steve Jobs announced the IPad, every body laughed him down and wondered who is going to buy that? And now, who has the last laughter? I don’t mind the critic at all, but a debate on the technical aspects would have been great.
No body is suggesting that it is an “easy” task, but then which task IS easy? Building a free hospital, is that easy? Developing a fighter jet, is that easy?
Technically speaking, if you create your own communication protocols, for example the one where IP addresses are being bound to names and MAC addresses simultaneously (just like China is believed to be doing for IPv9), you end up having a network where other networks will not be able to so easily communicate with your network. This gives you greater control on the “Internet”.
@Aussi: Well in fact I personally am not against learning English as a foreign language, but I am fully against for English being a status symbol. Your suggestion is very valid and Urdu should be the medium of teaching in our schools etc. I can give you examples of dozens of countries where no English is spoken but still they are the most developed countries in the world.
So thinking English = development is quite laughable.
