Should NWFP government request UN for protection?

Everyday there are bomb blasts in NWFP and FATA killing innocent people. Pakistani government is unable to protect our people from being killed. USA and Pakistan are playing games with each other – one wants strategic-depth in Afghanistan and the other want the Nuclear Bomb and Pashtun are being killed by drone attacks, military operations and the suicide bombers with no mercy. We see no end to this barbaric genocide of Pashtuns.

Isn’t this the time that the NWFP government ask UN to intervene and deploy International security forces to protect our people from genocide and at the same time ask the Pak army and US forces to cease their activities on both side of Durand line and let the Pashtun live in peace like any other people.

I don't know what you're smoking, but last time I checked the majority of suicide bombers were also pashtuns & were blowing up everything and anyone who disagreed with them all across the country. They're attacking NWFP because thats easiest for them to attack, and its harder for suicidal terrorists to travel to other parts of the country to carried out terrorist attacks.

As for the UN, NWFP is part of Pakistan, and NWFP govt has no power to request any foreign entity for help. That would be consider treasonous, and province would treated as rebellious territory, and as such would bring wrath for the federal govt.

It is also the Responsibility of citizens to help Gov as well, Gov alone is just like a gun without Ammo , you can only show it off it wont do anything else we people are its ammo , we need to realize & full fill our duties as well before we start blaming the Gov. Well you must realize that We are in the state of WAR & sacrifices are necessary for it , so instead of crying for Help Y not Stand Behind Army & Support them so we ca n get Rid of these Taliban Scums from out Motherland.
Just Remember that no one s going to help you if they knew you are week & cry baby's , We don't have Any Friends in the World there are only Stake holders , once their interest is Gone we are nothing but ourselves ,
so instead of Calling others for help make yourself strong enough so others would have to call you for help.

there is a potential case for fata's independence but as far as nwfp is concerned it is involved in creating internal strife nearly as much as the federal government is.

does anyone really think, if nwfp government wanted to introduce certain protective steps, islamabad would try to stop it from protecting ordinary citizens?

I thought you were different, you had the passion for local control, and above all local accountability.

That meant, Pashtuns were supposed to take care of their problems first.
then if they fail, they would go to Pak government and WORK with Pak government to take care of the LOCAL problems.
