is there any reference in koran it should be controlled by specific
nationality or just by any muslim?
in catholic faith thre is no specific ethincity is considered in selecting a pope. does the same should apply to islam too?
We're not picky and fussy over who becomes the pope either.
rviklz
i think its just due to the location. its in saudi arabia so they are responsible for maintaining the place.
the pilgrimage was a major source of revenue in pre-Islamic times... i'm sure it's profitable even now.

Akhi no there is no refernce, but since the Kabaah is located in that particular Holy city and so it being in Saudia... its only logical that they take responsibility and care of the Kabaah..
caretakers of Kaabah
Assalaamualeikum,
well the care taking of the Kaabah, is a duty of every Muslim. Muslims have the Job to take care of it, it doesn't matter what nation they come from.
Right now the Kaabah is being taken care by Muslims, walhamdulillah, that is all what matters, nationality doesn't matter.

Anyone who fulfils the following criteria should be able to maintain Allah's mosques:
{The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance.} (9:18)
And Allah knows best.
Iqbal
Iqbal has summed it up perfectly!

well that disqualifies the Saudis..
nationality
Assalamualeikum,
I don't think we have the authority to make a judgment on anyone.
Allah knows best who fears. That is something in the heart.

Alhamdolillah I fear Allah Alone and not the American forces... add to it the fact that I wouldn't condone shoving little girls back into fire just cuz they are not wearing something which is not proper dress code in my own myopic view.
how can u make this judgement about PA in relation to the Saudis???
this is the biggest mistake ‘muslims’ have been making over the last 1000 yrs: picking on ppl; making comparisons etc etc ![]()
very stereotypical what u just did.
o wise rvikz, do u suggest india (i.e. bjp) be handed over the authority for this????
Impressive :k:
Jazak ALLAH Khair, Iqbal.
and by the way, its totally wrong that Only Saudis are doing the job..
its true that since the two Holy Places are in KSA, thats why a majority in the administration belongs to Saudis, but I know many Pakistantis, Indians, Bangaldeshis, Egyptians and many others who are responsible for many jobs there,
Specially some major figures in Maintenance and Designing of the two Holy Places.
who ever takes cares, who cares for that, until unless they are Muslims.
and secondly what these Saudis are doing is an enormous job, at least these places are not in Pakistan, other wise some Mr 10 % would have made billions of commission per year.
During the times of Khilafah, who maintained the holy sites?
what choice? they cannot transplant Makka and Madina! Neither can Saudi Arabia be moved. So guess they're stuck with current situation.
