really...
yes.
Re: Should Islam be spread "By Sword"?
You are still misquoting me.........this is your hypocrisy.
I am not accusing any religion.........one follows a religion because he/she thinks that is the best religion and when he/she thinks his/her religion is the best then he/she calls others to his/her religion..........
But if someone is afraid or don't want to call others to his/her religion then it means either he/she doesn't have knowledge about his/her religion or the religion itself doesn't have any guts.
If what we choose for ourselves, we don't choose for others..... is a dishonesty.
You mean guts like "convert or face serious consequences" like this article is highlights is happening?
How can you dare say you can choose religion for others? Your interpreation of religion may repulse others and that may be their very legitimate opinion.
narayan explained that in Hinduism there is no concept of asking people to convert. It is a different concept, no doubt, but one you are in no position to judge.
BTW I didn't misquote you, you said what you said.
Re: Should Islam be spread "By Sword"?
yes.
to eloborate just a lil ... all religions were / came in to existance on earth whereas Islam was chosen by Allah Almighty and Islam even Existed at the time of Creation of Adam AS ..and even before ..:)
Re: Should Islam be spread "By Sword"?

"convert or face serious consequences".........this is your ignorance that you don't know in Islam there is no concept of forcing others to change their religion.
How can you dare say you can choose religion for others?
Why not....................Do I have a right to wish for something?(wish for the best for all the human beings)
Your interpreation of religion may repulse others and that may be their very legitimate opinion.
If people don't agree with me or find my arguments repulsive then there is nothing that I can do for them except praying.
narayan explained that in Hinduism there is no concept of asking people to convert.
Nor in Islam
It is a different concept, no doubt, but one you are in no position to judge.
People here are assuming and judging Islam bcoz of the actions of some ignorant people. Do you want me to do the same? Search for an article of human sacrifice or killing a daughter in India?
Are we allowed to judge Islam based on this article......or Islam is not a religion in your eyes?
BTW I didn't misquote you, you said what you said.
Then may be you misunderstood me.

Thats your opinion. You can say the first human was muslim, you can say Jesus was muslim, Ram and Krshna were muslim, but that does not change the facts. Islam is the newest religion started 1400 years back. All major religions are older than Islam.

Not my ignorance sister, it's the ignorance of those Muslims doing it as reported in this article.

Nothing wrong with wishing it. Or preaching it for that matter. But you can't "choose" it for someone as these ignorants are doing in this article.

Contradictory statements.
Re: Should Islam be spread "By Sword"?
Christians and Jews were historically to be protected in Islamics lands, so the arguments that we should convert them by force are clearly false.
Umar (ra) refused to pray in a church after conquering Jerusalem because he was afraid that the space would potentially be turned in to a mosque. This is hardly the action of someone who believed that people should be forcibly converted.

Actually to put in in perspective from our POV Islam is the newest name of what was supposed to be the religion of humanity since its creation.
Re: Should Islam be spread "By Sword"?
same old topic..:D with only fights
Did forcible conversions happened in india?...yes it did.
Were all forcible conversions?...No, it was not.
Why didn't entire india didn't convert if it was the case?....because no ruler ever ruled india completely, other than aurangzeb, ashoka and chandra gupta maurya. Many muslim rulers had to depend on hindus themselves for support.
These are my views:) ......"jo hua - so accha hua"..no point in going back.

From whose POV is it the oldest religion.

Semi, I don't think Hareem ever said anything in favor of those who are doing such stuff. Don't you think you got off on a wrong footing here.

Yes...ignorance of those so called muslims who don't know anything about Islam.
Nothing wrong with wishing it. Or preaching it for that matter. But you can't "choose" it for someone as these ignorants are doing in this article. .
These were my actual words.... " If what we choose for ourselves, we don't choose for others..... is a dishonesty.
I didn't say nor I wanted to say ' choose religion or choose Islam '.
Like when we choose a gift for someone....we should choose what we choose or like for ourselves.
I should have said what we wish for ourselves...we should wish in the same way for others.
Hope it will clarify a bit more what I was saying before.
Re: Should Islam be spread "By Sword"?
From whose POV is it the oldest religion.
Monotheism is the oldest religion and what God has always required of humanity. Rituals have changed from nation to nation and prophet to prohet as per Gods will. Islam is all about monotheism.
The whole purpose is to make you recognize your creator and obey him and cast all your hopes in him.
Re: Should Islam be spread "By Sword"?
Besides, in many cases if hindus were oppressed by muslims, then they absolutely deserve it. It was their karma from oppressing their own people. Justice had to be delivered.

That theory is contingent on a belief in Islam.

That makes sense. I didn't mean to imply you agreed with these forced conversions. I was caught up in the semantics of choosing vs wishing. If someone believes their religion/interpretation of religion is the only path to salvation it is benevolent to wish it for others.

I agree that I have no knowledge about the Bible, but I would appreciate if you can explain me about Abraham, Noah and David peace be upon them all.
What, was there concept, out of topic but this topic is deviated thanks to many posters who passed there exper comments.
