i think its time to lift the ban on indian films, not because people love them but its the only way to revive the pakistan film industry. Just looks at the TV industry, the only reason they have gotten soooo much is because of the competition made by the indian channels, no one was interested in pakistani channels about 10 years ago, they were all going out of business and the only way they could come back in business was to improve the quality of there programes, which they did and now they have gone far ahead of the indian channels. it is quite obvious that we have huge amounts of talents but its all being wasted, if indian movies are released in pakistan just imagine the amount of new cinemas that will come up, there will be atleast 200 new cinemas opening in the first year, this will surly bring lots of business to the cinemas and the indian movies and put those retards of lollywood completly out of business and the only option they will have is to improve there work to get back into business. The gov. can put a 70% tax on on the indian films, to make sure the indians dont make too much money and that the gov. can benefit out of it too. they can go through the same process the tv channels went through. Once the indian films are released in pakistan there will be a huge amount of investment put into the infarnstruchure once the infranstruchure is up and pakistan movies have improved some what then they can ban the indian films again after some 3/4 years which should boost the business of the pakistan film industry even more. Then we can hopefully take over bollywood the way our tv and music industrys have by producing unique and refreshing films. This way our film industry will be much better.
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
I wonder how many people actually don't watch Indian movies because of the ban....
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
So in other words, Suhaib, you mean that Pakistan should legally support the Bharhatee "film" [if you can call the stuff they make that] industry, and provide money that would inturn be used to dish out more trash against Pakistan? Makes sense? No!
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
hahahahaha---agree...
however...i dont think that it shud be like totally baaannneeeddd....its just bollywood movies are just so wrong...and HARAAM...like i cant even flip channels on the dish n e more...and considering that fact that pakistan is getting more corrupted..yea i can see what u mean.....
but dont pakistani's already watch so much hindi movies...cause when i went...all i heard was indian songs..and about indian actors...and new movies etc....they know more than me....
or i cud be totally wrong...and just not with it...
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
People still watch Bollywood films and the excuse our govt gives sucks... They can censor the film and then show it..no problem with that!
I think BAN SHOULD BE LIFTED!
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
Generally it’s the trash watches 'em. The kind of folks where the dad gets 5 videotapes to digest over the weekend. I know many, many decent people who totally abhor thumkaa-wood films.
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
Considering the roaring business done by Indian movies in rental shops and their demand through cable/satellite, I presume there are a fair number of people in Pakistan who will dish out good money to watch them in a theatre as well.
However, the only problem with the original suggestion is that it will put Pakistan's film industry at a cross-road. Either it will swim (meaning better movies) or it will sink (meaning no movies or just low-budget independent movies). While I am myself not a huge fan of either Indian or Pakistani movies, purely from a humanitarian standpoint, I'd be very skeptical of any move that can put the livlihood of thousands of people at stake, without careful evaluation of all the alternatives. One suggestion will be to see why Pakistani movies are so lagging in technical and artisitic merit compared to those in the neighboring countries and what can be done to improve their standards.
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
Actually the mentality of the pak lota movie directors / producers / actors etc need to change!
And faisal, independent films are not bad afterall. Look at Iran and how it has succeeded much in that. Even egyptians movies i heard do well in the arab world (In arab movies that is).
Re: should indian films be unbanned?
^^ Absolutely. As Usman Peerzada said sometimes back, our "sui" is stuck on the trash the eastern neighbours are makin.
