Maybe all the Christians were hiding when the CIA did its count. Maybe the Muslims were hiding when Dr. Lawal and the NSCIA did their counts. Hey. I've got no skin in this fight. I just thought the argument that India should not be in the OIC because it was not a Muslim majority country sounded pretty lame. So I did some research trying to learn about the charter and see what countries were Members. There are some interesting arguments among Members even to the extent of many Nigerians wanting out because they don't necessarily want to be considered an Islamic state.
It appears as if being Muslim majority is NOT a defining characteristic of OIC Members. Whether India wants in or should even be allowed in is not a subject I'm particularly interested in. When I see lame arguments presented in Gupshup, I like to point them out.
Whether the CIA is right in its count or whether the Islamic sources are right about the count....I don't know. I'd like to think that our CIA can count although the number of Muslims in these countries probably exceeds the combined numbers of fingers and toes of all our CIA agents, so I'm not real sure.
I suspect the real reason some Muslims would not want India in the OIC is their hatred and antipathy of Hindus. Whether being an OIC Member might actually help 140 million Muslims living there probably takes a back seat to that hatred.

I'm not discussing on the topic nor I'm arguing about anything regarding OIC, I was just pointing out that discussion are made here in the favour of one's view. If I would have brought up the number by Muslims claiming the numbers CIA issued you would have rejected it.
