i am looking for bridal dress and i like a dress. I want to place an order online with NOORZ boutique but she takes 100% in advance and it will cost me £1100.
my khala and cousins stopped me from doind so as they said they cna do for cheaper and its safer. now that i gave them the pics, they are doing their own input and showing me completly different styles of dresses. it is quiet irritating as i want the dress i like, just a copy of it (sana safinaz piece).
now they are saying pictures not clear, dont blame sus if it doesnt come out nice or like the pics.
i have already ordered a copy of Heritage with Noorz and it came out very well ! 90% i would say(my iss bought the original so i can compare). but that was only £120. so risk of paying in advance was less.
What you advice? should i got ahead and pay online? or is it too risky and i would have too many ‘i old u so’’ if it doesnt go well.?
Hold on - did you pay £120 for a BRIDAL DRESS? Or was that a formal dress?
I would read the customer reviews before committing to buying something online. Also I would find a contact number and try to speak to someone in person before paying that much money over. Also get some sort of confirmation that if your dress doesn't turn out the way you like, they will make changes according to your instructions. All these things need to be confirmed before I would even consider paying over the internet.
No that's what her aunt is saying, not the vendor.
I would give 50% upfront and 50% prior to the dress being shipped to you. 100% upfront leaves you with no protection at all and $1100 is quite a lot of money.
Same, I wouldn't risk it. A good vender wouldn't ask you for 100% in case anything goes wrong or without you seeing the dress. Email her and try to negotiate
I am having to do my dress online - I decided to go with a well known designer in PK - and only paid 50% advance (that too after we discussed all the details) and then paid the other 50% when it was picked up (I still haven't seen it in person). Best to go with someone who is well known so things don't mess up.
Initially a lot of people came to my 'rescue' and told me they could make designer copies etc and started showing me very ugly stuff. So I increased by budget (by a lot unfort lol) and went with someone reputable.

have you ordered online for bridal?
No one charges 100% upfront for a bridal. Having said that if you already have good experience with a particular vendor, I wouldn't be too concerned. Also you can negotiate the payment terms with them? Have you seen their other bridal work/copy?
Though i haven't ordered any dress from this particular boutique you're talking about but yes i have seen there fb page,work and customer feedback.
why don't you ask any of your relative residing in Pakistan to see them personally ,their business place/boutique? It will be much safer then.
the £120 dress was a formal dress. her work is without doubt good, but that does come with some non negotioating attitude (i guess she is sooo busy). she is not ready to negotiate. I suggested to pay for a sample first and then place full bridal order but she isnt ready for that as she is scared i will make a copy of her work (copy of a copy lol) . she says it is her policy to take 100% in advance whether it is 5000rps suit or 2 lakhs.

I would give it a miss. A vendor unwilling to negotiate and compromise with you is just being shifty, especially when you are purchasing something as important and expensive as a bridal jora. It might work for formals but definitely not for a wedding dress. It's actually ridiculous that she thinks she can get away with that kind of a policy!
Yeah i know she is kind of this,once i wanted to order one formal dress from her but didn't like her attitude,she seemed a bit arrogant to me. (this is my personal opinion and i might be wrong)
if you so liked her work and there ain't any other option and if i would have been at your place then i would have asked my relatives to go and see in personal before giving all the amount in advance, it can be risky who knows!
Catwalk also has a thread in Bazaar Talk. Also look up NK Studio on Facebook. Her name is Nida Khan and she seems to be doing some good work and running a tight ship. No shifty business.
I am getting a sample from Nadya's Visage. she showed me her bridal work and it was very unique and different. she seem good. let's see how the sample look.

I hope it works out well for you but i would never order a bridal outfit online unless i had a personal recommedation and id witness the process first hand myself.
I must be old fashioned but i like the ability to deal on a personal 1-2-1 working with the designers to create the outfit. You might save a few quid but the fact is when they've taken the full payment you can expect less commitment.
What happens if arrives and it requires alteration, because we're all on a diet before the wedding.
