Btw, gupshupthisish, I don't understand why a non-muslim, non-pakistani man's opinion about you dating or not matter to you. My non-muslim friends/acquantainces are always shocked at the fact that I have never tasted alcohol, but does that make me wonder if I should start drinking or not? No, it doesn't.
Their shock and horror just means that they are not familiar with your culture and religion. It is your responsibility to make them understand, not change your own ideals and beliefs because someone is questioning them.

Btw y do we pakistani men have such a nasty reputation as husbands, i mean c`mon we can be good, decent, loving , caring husbands as well, any ways coming to the OPs topic, Muhtarma all i would suggest is get the notion of dating out of the head as well as be a little broad minded when it comes to Rishta, desi men generally are dil pheink (GUILTY) and thus do have some sorta past but that is the past, it is really good for you that you dont but if you try and knit pick everything you will always find a flaw and no one is a 100%. I wont comment on the non-desi guy part since I am against inter-cultural marriages or even inter-faith but thats my opinion.
In the end PAKISTANI WOMEN please stop generalizing and hating on Pakistani Men
