Re: should i do qurbani.*+
If you can nadz, pay it and make dua for yourself. For this life and the next.
This, or/and for the betterment of your kids, husband, family, future.

Re: should i do qurbani.*+
well since we're on the subject, someone can shed some light....is there any truth to it, that if u have debts on you, you're exempt from doing qurbani?
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
i just came across this through google and thought to share it here…
One sacrifice is sufficient on behalf of all the members of a household, no matter how many of them there are.
Al-Tirmidhi (1505) narrated that ‘Ata’ ibn Yassaar said: I asked Abu Ayyoob: How was the sacrifice done at the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? He said: A man would offer a sheep on behalf of himself and the members of his family, and they would eat some and feed others with some.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
It says in Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi:
This hadeeth clearly states that a single sheep is sufficient on behalf of a man and the members of his household, even if they are many, and that is correct.
Al-Haafiz ibn al-Qayyim said in Zaad al-Ma’aad: The teaching of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was that a sheep is sufficient on behalf of a man and the members of his household, even if they are many in number.
Al-Shawkaani said in Nayl al-Awtaar: In fact a single sheep is sufficient on behalf of the members of a household, even if there are one hundred or more, as is indicated by the Sunnah. End quote.
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said in al-Sharh al-Mumti’ (5/275):
There is no limit to how many people may share in the reward. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) offered a sacrifice on behalf of his entire ummah, and a man may offer a single sheep on behalf of himself and the members of his household, even if they are one hundred strong. End quote.
The Standing Committee was asked: There are twenty-two people in this family, and they have one income and one budget. On Eid al-Adha they offer a single sacrifice, and I do not know whether that is sufficient or whether they should offer two sacrifices?
They replied:
If the family is big but they live in one house, one sacrifice is sufficient for them, but if they offer more than one sacrifice, that is better. End quote.
Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 11/408.

If you assets minus your debt is less than the worth of 7 1/2 tola of gold than yes you are exempted from giving Zakat. I guess same might be applicable to Qurbani.
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
lol at all the women. I am not earning but i have ****load of wealth in my name.
seriiously?
If you own the property/jewelly, its for YOU to pay the zakaat and do the qurbani.
you can sell the jewellery if you can't earn the money.
kanjoos aurtain toba
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
This pretty much answers it, doesn’t it?
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
Sorry if this sound harsh
but only when it comes to Qurbani and Zakat, we have 1000s reasons to NOT do it. We balance our sheet up to last penny and somehow derive to the conclusion that its not FARZ on us. Like I have 40 tola sona BUT…, There is some money that my parents gave me BUT…, I have this much saving BUT… and so on…
we do not think twice while making 25,000 suit, or 150,000 jewelry set or buying BMW 5-series (for guys to maintain balance).
U know what that kills the soul of Zakat and/or Qurbani. Allah really does not need it from us. We should all be afraid of the time when we ultimately do qurbani or pay zakat and Allah miaan says “Thanks but no thanks”.

PS: Nadz this is not directed towards you but my general observation.
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
no, you guys are right.
thankyou i feel so silly.
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
very nice answer.
worth reading twice.
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
To my understanding, one qurbani per household is sufficient or each member can do the qurbani (can be paid by husband if he is willing to or by the individuals themselves). It all comes down to the soul of the act- doing 10 but feeling 'why or do i have to?' about it or doing 1 with sincere intentions to please Allah swt?
The more we give in the way of Allah swt, the more reward, right? inshaAllah!
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
suna hai your kaamwali is doing a big qurbani ![]()
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
Yeah sure.
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
LOL!
Re: should i do qurbani.*+
Why would husbands pay zaakat on items , which aint their property ... Same goes for Qurbani ...
My mother does it from the pension she receives , my wife does it from the money she saves from her pocket money !
