My hair is layered, kinda long, not quite half-way down my back. I’ve done the shoulder length or chin-length before, and I do think it looks cute but I tend to miss my long hair. These days my long hair is just frustrating me, as I’ve got a naturally chubby face and I feel like it drags it, rather than defining it. The ends are limp, my hair is pretty fine, and it’s definitely time for a trim, but I’m wondering if I should do more.
What do you guys think? Is shoulder or chin length hair out these days? Is it unflattering on some face cuts?
Well, if you don't really want to lose length then you could always ask your hairdresser to add long layers into your hair. This will make it look fuller and not as fine.
Chin length and shoulder length cuts are still in, however, if your face is chubby I don't think you should go for chin length. Shoulder length would look cute and you could get layers added to give it some shape.
i got my hair cut in Dec and i had pretty long hair ... a little bit above waist
but now my hair are abt to my shoulders :( and i regret it.... though it looks really nice and took couple of yrs off of my face but i miss my long hair too.....
but alhumdolilah my hair grow really fast so just in 2 months its grew so much....
long hair are in these days.... i wouldnt recommend you to cut ur hair.... definitely go for a trim :) and have long layers in the front starting from your chin and its really gona suit on ur face....
Short hair makes the face look rounder. Go for face framing layers or if you are really looking for a drastic change you can do sharp, long, blunt bangs. I did those last year and loved them. Then, I got shorter side bangs but am trying to grow them out now so I can have some long hair for wedding hairdo's.
Layered bobs, make a round face appear chubbier. U can opt for a shoulder-length heavy layers ( u say u're hair is fine this will give it a lot of body) Forward layering at the front.. wud make u're face appear slimmer and tha forward layers wud frame u're face nicely too.
For occassions u'd be able to blow-dry u're hair both inwards and outwards.. and even use a curling iron to create diff looks.
Gina, i've got LONG hair, and i've got kindv thin face...
what do u think what kind of cut will suit me...? btw i've never done anything to my hair, they'r long n straight....
For the past two years I had long layered cut. I like the layer cut but at the same time I hate the unevenness growth of hair. So you just have to cut layered every time to make it look better.
Last month I cut my hair straight from the bottom from the length where the layer had started. It looks a little short because I am so used to long length.
so for this summer I'm just gonna keep it long and straight cut on the bottom. We'll see when I feel like new change again =)
Shona, short layers around the crown area and front would look nice.. long hair that's "feathered" around the face gives the face a full-effect..that's if u want to keep u're hair long.
btw I LOVE LONG hair..... it's just that wanted to have something new n' different...
i want to give a new look to my hair, but in longer lenght... i know if i'll get them too short i'll regret...
Well, mom and MIL say cut it for a change, to feel freshened up, so I think I'll go for the shoulder length layered look.
I think the same, try longer layers of different lenghs then you can flick in, out, curl whenever you want a different look. Sometimes a good haircut is all we need.
I remember last May, I was going through a really naff time with my school placement, I kept failing this stupid literacy test and somethiing else I forget, but once I had my hair cut ( a good 7 inches) I passed my literacy test and my placement was fine! I honestly think it was the weight of my hair holding me back! hehehe :D

gina i can never blowdry my hair outward. Is it because its so silky?
