Age old thing known to humanity is that its always the man , who proposes a lady …
similarly its always the “larkay walay” who will initiate a rishta process in arranged marriages

Why cant it be the other way round ? why is it not that acceptable in our culture ?:konfused:

We mean it in the most positive way. She is a brave girl and i am just super happy she is happy in her life now. Rephrasing to "You are the man" to "You go girl!!!"

I don’t see anything wrong with it but yah i had prefer if the guy i like proposes me, i am quite old fashioned :chai:. But i don’t think i will let this stop myself from proposing a guy i really like and with whom i can see my future with, hopefuly! :smiley:

i wont mind proposing....but i dont know who to propose. the minute it think he is the one, the next minute i see something else which makes me not to...in fact i might dont even want em to initiate.

How about asking the guys here if they'd like to be proposed by a girl? It would be interesting to see the numbers. In general guys are not wired to be chased. Some might use the Prophet (SAWS) and his wife Khadija as an example, but he didn't have the ego and hangups about society and image. The guys we encounter may strive to be like him, but they are lesser men, which is not meant in an insulting way. Exceptions will always be there, however I think most prefer to be the pursuers.
