Word. What purpose does marriage hold for the gay population? Social acceptance, financial, legal benefits don’t seem like the real reason because in the west they already have that through civil partnerships etc. Traditionally, marriage is an institution used in religions to legalise unions between members of the opposite sex. The religion part of it has slowly evaporated in the west so their marriages are useless anyway, and now gays want to get in on the act.
