A serious question, the Israelis have at various times negotiated with Hezbullah and the PLO, the British with the IRA so why not with Al Qaeda?

The said the same things about Gaddafi of Libya some 15-20 years ago, when he was allegedly blowing up passenger airliners. Now look where they are with him....
^ Totally irrelevant. Gaddafi is not threatening anyone. He isn't killing advocating the killing of innocent civilians around the world. He saw the light, reformed, repented, got scared, whatever... But he is playing by the rules now. He's not blackmailing anyone, he has conceded.

I know Sem. But he was advocating the killing of innocent civilians around the world, if you believe various American adminsitrations from the 70's till recently. He was 'blackmailing' as well. If Bin Laden concedes, and stops all the above that he has been accused of, will he get the same jhappi and mithai as Gadaffi?

I don't know. Let's reserve judgment until he concedes. Right now he is still threatening (and executing) murder and mayhem.
