The government should mind its own business. If I want to do lines of cocaine with a prostitute, that's my business, not the government's. The government has no right to tell me what I can do with my body. As long as I am not infringing on anyone's right to do what they want, then it is none of the government's concern.
In the US it's pretty much banned from most places. In New York, they are even gonna ban it in public parks by summer I think. One of the best things i did was quit smoking a few years back.
And yes, I think legalizing marijuana would be a very good thing. First of all it would cut down on a lot of violence in the "War on Drugs" which has been an absolute sham. Street violence would also go down. Sales of doritoes and brownie mix would go up. More happiness all around. Plus it would be a major source of revenue for the government which they could put to good use in infrastructure or health care. My .02
if everyone is so eager to let the govt decide what is good and bad for them, your society is going Orwellian in no time, pal. and judging by the line of thinking in a majority of the responses, these are scary times..
as for smelling bad.. i don't smoke, but i like the smell of raw tobacco and cigarettes and cigars. if we start banning things for smelling bad, i wonder how many desis'd make it..

Yes! They’d have to produce more, which would create more jobs. Then we could export Doritos and brownies all over the world, thus gaining back our manufacturing credentials. It’s all win win for the economy. Let’s start a campaign!
