Re: Should a wife..
If the “marital problems” include a situation where the wife or the children is being abused or the wife fears for her safety…then definately yes. If the “marital problem” is serious enough where the wife is actually seriously considering filing for divorce…then yes.
However…if we’re talking about general little tiffs and arguments that spouses have…or if the wife is merely annoyed by her husband and needs to vent…then no. I would NEVER want to risk my mother (or another family family) member accidently blurting out something in front of my husband that would give my husband a clue that I have discussed my “issues” with them (especially if I want to continue my marriage). Also, if I want to continue my marriage…I would want MY family to like my husband and would not do anything that would make them lose respect for him.
Seeking advice from MY family members in a situation where my safety is threatened OR I’m about to end my marriage: Yes.
“Discussing” or “venting” about daily little issues to my family: No. This is why I have friends (and of course, gupshup).
