Always search the fault within yourself first
Saeed Iritrie
(told by Sheikh MOhammed Hoesein Yaqoeb during a lecture about da’wah) )
There was a man who had found the right path and tried to live according to the rules and Sunna of the Prophet (pbuh). His life changed in total obedience to Allah.
He practically never missed prayers in the mosque. The only thing that concerned him was his neighbour who never prayed or did anything else in name of Islma. He tried to approach him everytime but failed.
One morning the man was going to the mosque for the morning prayers, and wanted the neighbour to join him. He kept ringing his door bell until the neighbour opened the door.
The neighbour disturbed in his heavenly sleep opened the door angry and saw the man there.
What do you want from me and why did youwake me up so early? He asked annoyed.
I came to take you with me to the mosque for the morinng prayers, brother, the man answered with a friendly smile.
You woke me up for that you idiot?! said the neighbour and spit in the man’s face and closed his door with a smack.
The man closed his eyes out of disappintment, whiped the spit off his face and sat down in front of the door of his neighbours house. He started crying and couldn’t stop.
His crying ws heard by his neighbour who then opened the door and said regrettable: I’m sorry I spit on you, I really insulted you that much by doing that? I’m sorry. I do these kind of things when I become mad.
It’s not about the spiting or insult, I can handle that, the man said.
Then what made you so sad? his neighbour asked.
The man answered: I’t me. I’m the bad person. If Allah saw some good in me, He would have let you come with me immediately. But I guess I am a bad person and so I can’t impress anybody. I give bad impressions.
The neighbour looked at him and knew how wrong he was and showed his sorrow. He said it was Satan that le thim react that way. He cried, went inside for wudhu and then joined his neighbour to go to the mosque.
