I need some advice for my valima dress. I am getting an anarkali and churidaar for my mehndi and short shirt and sharara for baarat. I was thinking of getting a short shirt and sharara for valima. I know long shirts are in now, so would a short (waist length) shirt look unfashionable?

no, i think i would just look traditional.. i'm going to wear a short shirt and a lehnga for my wedding.. don't really care much about the fashion.. but then again, i don't live in pakistan, so i hae no clue how in long shirts really are concerning brides!
If you're wearing a short shirt and sharara one day, wear a long shirt and gharara the other day.

sorry i am wearing a long shirt and sharara on baraat, so you all think it is still ok to wear short shirts fashion-wise?i have my eyes on a short shirt and sharara for valima. i don't want my dress to look out dated. my wedding is in pakistan.
I really like long shirts and think they look really pretty, but then again if you like short shirts go for it! 
You could wear a long shirt with capri’s, pants or shalwars later as well.
Yes long shirt and gharara is best for valima....Now a days im dealing with someone ..valima chatta patti gharara with open shirt(Long shirt)
Off white shirt and duppatta and purple gharara..I tnink this is beautiful combo for Valima!

wait long shirt and gharara?? tat wud look hideous, long shirts look best on shararas or dhaaka pajamas, i personally dont think theres anything rong with wearing a long shirt on both days whats in fashon is in fashon. u cud perhaps change the style or cut of the shirt a bit for instance have a front open one for ur wedding and a normal long shirt for the valima vice versa.. im sure the work and colours of both the dresses wud b so different it really wudnt matter:)
if u like a short shirt then thats ur own choice but short shirts r clearly outdated.

I think ghararas look only good with short shirts - i really don't think long shirts will go at all with a gharara because a lot of the kaam is on the actual ghararar even at the top and it wouldn't flatter the outfit but other than that you don't have to wear a long kameez if you don't want to! (I've decided recently that i want to wear a ghararara for the baraat and will be having a short shirt for that but for the valima it will be a long kameez lengha.)

So wait, a sharara is just a fancy word for lehnga? And thank you Hinaz for posting the pictures! Also, is there such a thing as a Farshi sharara? I really don't like the silhouette of the farshi gharara paired w/ a short kameez.
